Hello fellow Dark Roast Citizens! In this episode, we go all-in DC with the ongoing mystery in Heroes in Crisis #2, the ever expanding havoc in Justice League Aquaman Drowned Earth #1 (what a mouthful), and a series of incredible shorts in Batman Secret Files #1.
But before we get into comics, Victor talks about how he is binging this one show on Netflix. He’s really enjoying this series. Very funny apparently. Listen to the episode to find out which show! Jerry has been getting into anime recently, but he’s now caught up on this one show he’s watching (also on Netflix!), and now he’s sad.

We realized that our episodes come out close to a week after the issues come out, and also comes out the day before NCBD! We wanted to make sure that you can hit up your local LCS and grab the issues we’ll be discussing the week after, and hopefully we can start a discussion on the Facebook group before the new episode airs!

Wabam! We're at the second episode of our new bonus series, where we go through the Previews Catalog for each month as they come out. We hope you'll find our recommendation through this series useful in deciding what to put on your future pull-list. It is also our intention to see if we can find gems ahead of release and add them to our show for discussion as well.
We will be mainly looking at new series and #1s as these provide a perfect opportunity for us to include a new comic from the start, and it also helps to spread the word about brand new books as well.

Greetings Dark Roast Citizens! In this episode, we deep dive (heh heh) into some Drowned Earth tie-ins with Aquaman #41 and Titans #28! We also get some much needed change of pace in Cold Spots #3!
But before we get into comics, Victor breaks the news to us that….he had a falling out with...Dokkan Battle. He goes into great detail about the fall out and what it feels like. It’s all quite an emotional ride.

Greetings Dark Roast Citizens! This week we see the conclusion to the Beast of Burden arc in Batman #57, the start of Drowned Earth in Justice League #10, and the return of Gideon Falls #7!
Over the weekend, Jerry and Victor both went to this brand new con called Kimikon, in Toronto Canada, and it’s this pretty awesome con focused on artist alleys and artist live demos. Some amazing artists were on hand at this show, you should definitely check it out online!
The coffee we’ll be brewing this week is called Kaguyu roasted by Detour Coffee Roasters. A simple name to pronounce this time around...we think? Not sure we’ll see.

Greetings Dark Roast Citizens! This week, we deep dive further into the mythology of Venom #7 and journey further into Cap’s quest to redeem himself in Captain America #4. A short episode this week as we only have two books to discuss!
But before we get into comics, we catch up on the busy week we had leading up to this episode. Victor has been busy all week preparing for his friend’s wedding as a groomsmen, and Jerry, well, he played a bunch of video games.

Greetings Dark Roast Citizens! Coming up in this episode we dive into the determination of Batman #56, a clash of ideals in Justice League #9, and the brand new magical world of Blackbird #1.
But before we get into comics, we talk a bit about the upcoming NBA season. We’re both huge basketball fans, so we give a bit of thoughts on what we might be able to expect with the new season, especially with teams that got some upgrade over the summer. We also just celebrated our Canadian Thanksgiving over the weekend, so happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Greetings Dark Roast Citizens! We’ve got a YUGE episode this week as we try to cover all the big books hitting the stands. This week we tackle the dynamic duo in Batman #55, an epilogue of sorts in Justice League #8, the climactic clash between Eddie Brock and Knull in Venom #6, and a brand new take on the Batman/Joker dynamic in Batman Damned #1.
But before we get into all that, it turns out both Victor and Jerry watched a bunch of things with John Krasinski in it. It’s good to see that he’s getting much more serious roles these last few years.

We’re back, Dark Roast Citizens! It’s Jerry and Victor here trying our best to catch up on all the sweet comics we’ve missed. We tackle Batman #54 and the relationship between Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson. We see the end of the Totality arc with Justice League #7. We deep dive into the politics of Captain America #3. And finally, we cap (heh) it off with a space wide trek through Fantastic Four #2!
But before we get into all that, it’s been a few weeks, so we spend some time catching up. Jerry went to the Fan Expo that happened in Toronto, and got to meet lots of writers and artists! He also completely forgot to upload those pictures on Instagram. So...perhaps he’ll upload them all at some point.
