Aloha folks! It’s Jerry and Victor here talking all things Venom #5 and the new Image series Cold Spots #1. We talk about the sweet new toys Venom gets, and how the characterization of Venom and Eddie Brock has evolved throughout the series. We then shift gears to talk about the eeriness of the new psychological/horror/mystery/suspense story in Cold Spots.
Before we talk comics, we spend some time talking about Jerry’s new phone (excited). That pretty much occupied all his time. Victor is catching up on Brooklyn Nine Nine on Netflix. We’re very glad NBC picked up the show in no time after the cancellation!
The coffee we’ll be brewing this week is a medium dark roast from Bean Head Specialty Coffee. They’re from our area in Toronto, Canada, and we think everyone should check them out!

Hey everyone! In this episode, we discuss Justice League #6, Batman #53, and Gideon Falls #6. That’s right! For the first time we cover three books in an episode! We wanted to bring the best comic book content to you, and share some more analysis with you, so we decided to try to analyze and discuss more books each episode. As a result, we have decided to include the coffee content within the comics segment. Let us know what you think of the change!
But before we get into comics, we catch on the week we had. Victor has been playing a lot of Dokkan Battle, but he’s fairly upset this week as he tried to summon more characters and ended up getting “shafted”. He says this a lot in the episode. Jerry is recovering from a sickness. So, kind of a boring week for him.
The coffee we’ll be brewing this week is called Shakisso roasted by De Mello Palheta Coffee Roasters. This is the first time we wrapped the coffee segment around the comics segment, so now we’ll have more time to taste the coffee before making our educated guesses. Did we do better? We’ll see!

Hey everyone! This week we discuss Batman issues 51 and 52 and Fantastic Four issue 1! We went through our list of books that we were following and covering, and decided that we wanted to keep Batman on our list and didn’t want to fall that far behind. So, this week we decided to combine issues 51 and 52 in the discussion, as we feel the themes from the two issues go hand-in-hand and very much depicts two sides of the coin.
But before we get into comics, we catch on the week we had. The 3rd anniversary event in Dokkan battle is finally coming to an end, so moving forward we promise (maybe) to talk about Dokkan a little bit less. Jerry has been feeling under the weather lately, so please excuse all the coughs and sniffles in this episode!
The coffee we’ll be brewing this week is called Los Alpes roasted by Monigram Coffee Roasters out in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. The roasters aren’t very far from where we are here in Toronto, so maybe one day we’ll make the drive out to visit them!

Hey everyone! This week we discuss Justice League 5 and Captain America 2. On Justice League, we relax a bit from the breakneck pace of Justice League as we’re given a nice character issue for Lex Luthor, learning about his motives some more. Captain America shows us some more of Cap’s internal struggles on being a man out of time and touch from the rest of the people.
But before we get into comics, we talk about our week a bit. Jerry spent a lot of time this past weekend playing video games, while Victor spent some time enjoying the downtown Toronto scene.
The coffee we’ll be brewing this week is called Francisco Caraza roasted by Anchored Coffee! We believe this is the first time we received coffee from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, so we’re pretty excited about what’s to come.

Hey everyone! This week we breakdown Venom 4 and The Magic Order 2! We get thrown in all sorts of directions with this new issue of Venom as we learn more about Venom’s true origin. With the upcoming Venom movie on the horizon, it’s a great time to be a Venom fan!
But before we get into comics, we breakdown some of the news and trailers that came out of SDCC! The DCEU hasn’t been doing very well these last few years, but we feel that they’re about to turn the tide! Aquaman and Shazam both look very promising!
The coffee we’ll be brewing this week is called the Komodo Dragon Blend, and it’s from Starbucks! We know a guy at Starbucks, so we scored ourselves some Starbucks to brew. We also take this time to kind of talk about the origin of our podcast name, and something a little embarrassing. We’ll just leave it at that.

Hey everyone! This week we breakdown Justice League 4 and Gideon Falls 5! It’s back-to-back weeks for Justice League, as last week’s Justice League discussion was actually a week late. We’re caught up again! And Gideon Falls is starting get to the climax of the first arc. We can’t wait for the mystery to unravel!
But before we get into comics we talk a bit more on Dokkan Battle again! The 3rd anniversary event is still going strong. Kind of getting the feeling that the event will run until the 4th anniversary (although Victor won’t mind at all).

Hey everyone! This week we breakdown Venom 3 and Black Panther 1. We’re starting to see some of the mythology unfold in Venom, and we’re very excited about where this series is going! Black Panther is also looking to be a promising run as we go galactic with Wakanda!

Hey everyone! This week we breakdown Justice League #2 and Gideon Falls #4. We talk at length about a common theme that we found with these books, and the implications it has not just with these comics, but with the very concept itself. We talk about the idea of faith and belief, and the validity for these ideas as it pertains to evidence and experience.
