Hey everyone! This week we break down Venom issue 2 and take a dive into the super weird and magical with The Magic Order issue 1 from Image Comics and...Netflix?! There’s lots to talk about with these two books. Venom looks to continue the momentum set from the first issue, and The Magic Order sets history as the first comic book published by the streaming giant Netflix!
But before we enter what is essentially adult Hogwarts, we take a look back at the craziness that is E3! Lots of awesome games were on full display at E3, and we can’t wait to talk about them! We go into a few games that we are excited about, but perhaps we should just do an episode discussing all the awesomeness that came out of E3!
The coffee we’ll be brewing this week is called Ana Sora roasted by Pilot Coffee Roasters. I’m not very confident this week on the flavour notes, as our initial sniff test doesn’t seem to be hitting anything we’re accustomed to. Did we guess right? I don’t know! Come find out!

The Hall is open! Everyone gather at the Hall of Justice as this week we dive head first into the brand new Justice League #1 by Scott Snyder and Jim Cheung! We breakdown the beginning of The Totality arc, and we give it our best shot at analyzing what we think The Totality actually refers to. Do you think we’re onto something?
But before we turn the knob and enter the Hall, we’ve got a few weeks of random things to catch up on! Victor went to Anime North and Jerry went to Niagara Falls Comic Con at the beginning of the month. Perhaps next time, we go to the same con!

It’s back to Gideon Falls we go with issue 3 this week as we continue to try and unveil the mystery that is happening in that town. Some more questions arise, and a major revelation at the end introduces a whole new light to the mystery. Can’t wait for the next issue of what is pretty much a mainstay series on our podcast!
But before we enter Gideon Falls, we catch up on what we’ve been up to the previous week. A pretty typical week actually. Nothing crazy happened. Victor watched the Venom movie trailer again, however, and had quite a few things to say. He also knows the Hamtaro theme song. So...come sing along?

This week, we finally give Marvel some love as we discuss the hot new Venom #1 by Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman! Eddie Brock is back! And he is better than ever! Some new exciting stuff is brewing in the Venom mythos, and we can’t wait to tell you all about what we think!
But before we dive into Venom, we talk briefly about our time with God of War, as we both finally beat the game now. So now we need to find other things to do. But maybe one day we’ll do a bonus episode going in-depth on the game. A spoilercast, if you will.

The summer of (DC) events is nearing, so this week we discuss DC Nation #0, which includes 3 short stories from some amazingly talented creative teams. We discuss what these events mean for the future of DC Comics, and which stories we are looking forward to the most. And boy, we are excited for what’s to come!

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Episode 10 of Dark Roast Comics Podcast! This week, it is all about Superman as the big blue turns 80! Coinciding with this milestone, Action Comics 1000 hits the stands! Jerry and Victor talk all about Action Comics 1000 published by DC Comics and all the wonderful stories from all the talented creative teams involved, including a story from Brian Michael Bendis that continues into a future mini series, and we give our thoughts on the celebration of one of the greatest superheroes of all time!
But before we jump into all things Superman, Jerry and Victor share their thoughts on current Marvel Comics, as we both have been doing a lot of Marvel reading as well. We promise we will give Marvel some love on this show soon!
