In this episode, Jerry and Victor talk a little about playing in Dragonball Super Card Game tournaments at our local shops, because we like the game a lot. We get into a conversation about Comixology sales, and what we've been reading. We then brewed our coffee and discussed Dark Nights: Metal issues 3 and 4. We go into talking about situations where you will need to cross the line, and whether or not the person can still be considered a hero. We then discuss the difference between fear and desire, and if these two ideas are really just the same concept. Let us know what you think!
For our coffee this week, we have a myster coffee brewed by Elysian Coffee Roasters from Vancouver, BC. This week, we put our tasting prowess to the test as the coffee this week has some interesting notes, but most importantly has a mysterious place of origin! We tell you where we think the coffee is from, but we want to know what you think! Email us what country you think this coffee is from!

SPOILER NOTE: In order to talk about The Batman Who Laughs in-depth, we needed to create context for why some of the themes we discussed are heavy in nature. Therefore, the comic segment starts off pretty spoilery for about 15 minutes. If you have not read the book, you should totally read it! But if you’re going to listen to this before reading, please skip ahead roughly 15 minutes or so once you’re at the comics segment.
In this episode, Jerry and Victor spend some time talking about the hype that is the Infinity War trailer! We then go to the other big two publisher and analyze and discuss the book The Batman Who Laughs. We’ve been looking forward to this episode for a while, so hope you’ll enjoy our conversation on what we think about the themes covered in the book. We cover themes such as the morality of killing, moral freedom, and the moral agents’ power. What would happen if Batman finally did the unthinkable?!
For our coffee this week, we have Burundi Ngozi brewed by Propeller Coffee Co. There are some interesting tasting notes this week, and we struggle pretty mightily throughout the tasting process. It’s okay though, we’ll bounce back!
ANOTHER NOTE: We noticed there were a few quick hiccups in the recording. Turns out it's from our raw files, so unfortunately we could not fix it. It's very minor and not really noticeable. Hope you enjoy the episode!

This week we discuss DC Comics’ Batman: The Merciless and Batman: The Devastator. We touch on themes of betrayal, the Superman complex, justifiable war, and the corruption of power, which seems to be a recurring theme through the Dark Nights tie-ins. We also end up ogling the artwork for a good potion of the show.
Also, Obi-Wan KiBatman: “You were the chosen one!”
The coffee we put through our taste test this week is Toarco Jaya from Indonesia, roasted by Detour Coffee Roasters. I think we’re getting closer and closer to connoisseur-hood (I think, maybe?)

In this episode, we discuss DC Comics' Batman The Dawnbreaker and Batman The Drowned. The themes we touch on in this week's episode are cynicism, absolute power corrupts, and revolutionaries. Also, Sylvester the Cat!
Instead of our usual sampling of random coffee beans coming to us online, we decided this week, and probably once a month moving forward, to visit a local coffee shop in our neighbour to see what they have to offer. This week we visited a shop called Dak Lak Coffee in Pacific Mall, located in Markham/Toronto. The coffee comes from a province called Dak Lak in Vietnam, and we're really excited to share the result with you.

Our first official episode! We did it! In this episode, we discuss the DC Comics series Dark Nights: Metal issues 1 and 2.
We touch on themes such as infinite universes, what sets a hero and villain apart, and becoming the villain of your own story. We also try our hands at a new brew by Cut Coffee from a region in Rwanda as we continue our jouney to becoming coffee connoisseurs (yeah right).
